I wish I had done more research before coming here and had not been influenced so much by the reviews. This is not my first time in Zanzibar, but it is my first time staying at this resort. I will go point by point: 1. The manager is practically nonexistent. She introduced herself on the first day, but whenever you have a question or any problem, she sends you to reception, and reception sends you back to her. In the end, nobody solves anything. She spends the whole day sitting in the restaurant in front of a computer, pretending to work and ignoring everyone around her. I literally saw her do nothing during the 8 days I stayed here with my husband. 2. They never have change. They offer two payment methods: either charge it to your room or pay immediately. However, when you pay in cash, you have to wait all day to get your change back. If you don’t ask for the receipt or ask them to write it down, they won’t do it. You have to constantly remind them. 3. The most important issue for a resort like this: we had power cuts during all 8 days of our stay, several times a day and sometimes for many hours. On top of that, when there is no electricity, there is no water in the shower either. The electricity always went off, especially in our room, number 25. I complained throughout our entire stay, and they always told me “this is Africa”, but the other rooms had electricity and ours did not. They simply did not care. We could not live normally in our room: we couldn’t charge our phones, take a proper shower, watch TV, or even enjoy our honeymoon. They made our stay unbearable. 4. You can hardly enjoy the beach because it is not private. There is almost always a red flag, and there is a reason for that: every morning there is low tide and the water usually does not come back until around 2 PM, sometimes even 5 PM. It is therefore very difficult to swim here. There are countless sellers constantly approaching you, trying to sell you things. Could improve: Manager y chicas de recepción

The resort is right on the beachfront, and for the price, it’s excellent value compared to nearby places like Neptune, which were almost three times more. It’s about an hour’s drive from the airport, but the roads are good, and check‑in was smooth. The staff were very friendly, and the rooms were spacious and clean. Could improve: There are two swimming pools and one restaurant. There’s no gym, which might be a downside for some, but with the whole beach at your doorstep, staying active is still easy. We enjoyed the nightly entertainment, and the big screen was perfect since we visited during the World Cup. The WiFi was also reliable.Food was okay, though the options were limited. With only one restaurant and the same menu daily, it can feel repetitive, but you can visit restaurants at nearby resorts if you want more variety. Even though we were on full board, some meals and all drinks were notincluded, which was a bit surprising. There were also no designated smoking areas, which wasn’t ideal during meal times for non‑smokers.Mosquitoes were quite active, so bring repellant—though the resort did provide one complimentary. Also keep in mind that traveling to Zanzibar requires a visa and health insurance (about $130), which can add up for families.
