Mikumi Wilderness Camp is generally great. But it depends on your expectations. This is not a high end resort. It is generally a bit out-of-date to modern standards, a bit worn out and frayed at the edges. So if you are expecting high end and luxury you will be disappointed. But I was not disappointed. It is a great location, to hear the lions roar very close to our hut at night was amazing! to see elephant wonder by our room, almost in touching distance during the day, also amazing. To sit around the fire in the evening and listen to hyena's calling, see the eyes on Impala close by was magical. The staff were excellent (English is good enough, although not fluent), very friendly, very attentive and trusted. The food was good (again, depends on expectations), food is quite 'Tanzanian' in theme, but very tasty and served on time and professionally by friendly and attentive staff. The game drives were also really good, we saw almost everything that we could, apart from the illusive Leopard. The general vista is amazing, beautiful sunrises and sun sets. To see the elephants and giraffes just getting on with daily life, undisturbed (kind of) by us all watching is beautiful. The park is relatively small and not the most famous, but it delivers the basics of what we wanted to see very well - overall great value. Overall, this place is good value for money and good standard for what it is. Could improve: If I was being fussy I would have liked electricity more of the time (recognising they are reliant on solar power), I would have liked cold drinks and more variety of drinks available than local beer, it would have liked wifi (or maybe not!). these are small areas of feedback, not complaint

Furchtbar!
