Pingwe Beach Apartments

Very friendly and resourceful staff who went over and above to make our stay enjoyable. Could improve: The mattresses used on the beds were quite uncomfortable and not what you’d expected for a place at that price range.

A perfect place to enjoy the eastern part of the island. The view from the apartment on the second floor was just amazing. The staff is a gem, always there to help with whatever you need. Everything is fresh and clean. Delicious fruit upon arrival and coconuts cut especially for us from the palm in front of our room. The kitchen was very convenient, so do not hesitate to ask to help you with groceries. Great prices and we could even pay in euros at the official rate. Highly recommended! Could improve: It was a bit noisy sometimes in the 2nd bedroom, because of the football field nearby and calls to prayer. Another thing is that you should take your shower quite fast because the hot water is not neverending. But those are something we got used to quickly.

Great spot minutes from the beach, very relaxed, great staff and perfect place to unwind.

I was surprised when we arrived, I didn't realise the property was not on the beach and that it did not have a restaurant or beach access - this bothered me. The way to the beach was through another property. However, the apartment is comfortable. Ours was facing the beach which was quite nice, the bedrooms were very comfortable - the balcony overlooking the water was very nice to hang on and I can't say that I have any complaints. I liked the aesthetics of the apartment, simple, yet functional. Could improve: I think it should be more obviously stated on the website that there is no restaurant. We ate at Upendo and the Rock which worked fine but I would have liked to have known this. Do bring cash, for airport transfers, the payment needed to be in cash only.
